It's easier to learn than human languages, for one. I honest hate maths and sciences--the requirements for getting into the programming field--and pretty much suck at them, but actual coding is pretty easy. If you've got interest and logic, I really doubt you'd do badly at it.

In conclusion, it's very realistic. Look into creating your own FPS's if that would solidify your interest. Html doesn't really have anything to do with actual software development, so I'd recommend you skip that. Start with python; to me, it's the easiest, and there are big communities everywhere to help you if you ever need it.
References :
If a camera is required equipment for your program of study, yes, it is an educational expense that is a legitimate use of a student loan. Getting the loan is not related to whether or not you have already paid for your tuition and fees. File the FAFSA at www.fafsa.ed.gov with your and your parent's information and PINs and contact your school to make sure that your information is received later next week. How soon you get your funds will depend on their refund policy, however, so check that out with the financial aid office for disbursement dates before you contract for the camera and follow through with all the paperwork.
References :
I have been a financial aid administrator for 25 years.

The only mark you have against you is your math skills. Programming is almost all logic and syntax so being good in math is a real plus. You are not to young to start. Bill Gates was a hack in his teens. There are numerous tutorials on the web that you can download for free along with the programming language. You might want to start with PERL since it won't cost you any money and will run on your PC. It is somewhat a kin to C in its syntax, (style).

As for how hard it is, only you can answer that. Just take a shot, it's free!
References :
boy, I'm glad I didn't work with Jack....the airlines I have worked for cargo, we were never less than careful with dogs/cats/whatever. If you are flying within USA, airline is not allowed (per feds) to accept pets when temperature at origin/transit/destination is over 85 degrees, so bear that in mind if you are travelling in high summer!
References :
depends on what you are "sending". when i travel with my cat, i only fly on airlines that still permit taking her on board with me. the do then have some strict rules, like you cannot bring the pet out and the pet has to be in one of those super small carriers that fit under the seat in front of you. they will also add a fee sometimes.

but, DO NOT ever, ever send a pet through the cargo where you check the pet at the ticket counter.

i have worked in commercial and corporate aviation. i can tell you that the baggage handlers DO NOT care about pets, and they will abuse or play with a pet because once they go behind the wall at the ticket counter, no one can see what is going on. i have seen pets die, pets be sent to the wrong destination, etc. i would never, ever trust a pet to go in the cargo section of a plane.

please... if the pet is small enough, take it on board with you.

good luck!!
References :
worked in commercial and corporate aviation since 1992

well by getting a loan, you could use that money to pay off your tuition/textbooks or whatever related to school, and the money that you saved already is equivalent to money saved towards buying the camera.
References :
Matt - MacPherson is a "high end" pro speaker and you will not find the prices on the internet easily. You can get the prices though by calling MacPherson and getting the name of a dealer. You call the dealer and they will tell you the prices. That will work but it will take some effort.

http://www.macpherson-inc.com/ContactUs.htm

Just to warn you - MacPherson speakers are very expensive. My personal opinion is that are overpriced. There are great speakers from QSC, Mackie or JBL that will work just as well and are priced reasonably. You can also get those prices online. The "high end" companies like MacPherson tend to be a little snooty.
References :
pro audio guy who hates to waste money on overpriced equipment
