What’s the difference between the sports marketing and sports management course in college?
Thanks.
I’ve never taken the course, but I do have a marketing background. Marketing involves communicating with consumers. In the case of sports marketing it involves get consumer to buy more Sports stuffs….ie) tickets, jerseys, anything that has a logo or "brand" on it.
Sports management would involve contracts, dealing with talent, managing workers ie. sports talent etc.

We make fun of dumb athletes, but most sports require some level of mental focus for the athlete to be good at it. But what are some Sports for complete idiots?
I think those strongman contests where they carry refrigerators and such is one contender. Maybe the 100-meter dash.
Curling. I think that anyone can use a broom to scrub the ice in front of that big cement thing that is sliding on the ice.
I mean seriously, how can that even be a sport?

Most sports and/or competitions require that you begin young. Gymnastics, dance, ect are a few. However, are there any Sports that women can begin over the age of 35, and still compete? I’m open to any and all possible competitions. Something physical and competitive.
NOTE: I’m looking for sports/competitions that I could START after the age of 35, without ANY experience, and eventually reach competition level.

I’m applying to colleges right now and I have different majors in my mind, mostly business/marketing. I’m a huge fan of sports and I’m wondering what Sports news reporters major in in college?
Journalism would be good.

I need to cite an article that has some sort of statistics on this topic. Any statistic like: how many Sports are offered to students in school, or how many sports can be seen on television throughout the year.
I would check out the website for the National Federation of High Schools to see what they list, as well as check out the 51 state high school associations (Iowa has two) to see what they sanction. As far as what’s on TV, try searching for the Neilsen Ratings organization, as it will show you what we watch.

Many Sports injuries are minor, such as sprains. But doctors say they are seeing an increase in overuse injuries, stress fractures, tendanitis, bursitis and chronic pain syndromes.
But im looking at the positive side of students playing sports like the fact that they are more fit in High School and as they get older they are less likely to become obese, which is the number one problem in the U.S.
But what how else do you think High School sports can be rewarding besides keeping students fit ?
What is sport? It is a situation where Person A competes with Person B and the best person wins, while someone comes second. However eventually if the person who comes second raises their attitude, trains, then the chances are they will beat the same person next time around. Likewise Team A plays Team B and one teams wins, while the other team comes second. Likewise if the team who came second raises their standards, then they might be winners next time around.
In School sport is not about fitness, its about how to compete, how to be a winner and how to be a looser, if the person likes one to one situations, or if they are a Team player. All that life has to offer can be found in sport, from being the individual, the outsider, to being a team player, working in a team. To winning gracefully and loosing gracefully, to having the right attitude, personality, to accept defeat and strive for perfection.
Most employment situations will have the same attributes as Sport, and that is why sport is rewarding, even if you cannot hit a ball, let alone catch a ball.

I have an el-cheapo cellphone that has internet access, but it can only load small webpages. I used to always use NBC Sports mobile webpage, but now when I try to go to it, I get "File too large". Same thing for CBS Sports website. Has anyone else in the same boat with me found a good mobile Sports website that isn’t a large file size? Right now I am using Yahoo’s but it is not as good as NBC.
try espn.com or foxsports.com
