5 Community Projects Shortlisted for National Eco Award : Shropshire

Following a nationwide search for sustainable initiatives, today the five shortlisted projects are announced. Each have the chance to win an award and Â£10,000 bursary to further their work:

SHROPSHIRE: The Project Group supports people with mental Health issues through creative art work with recycled materials and rubbish.

The panel of judges included experts from the Energy Saving Trust, Waste Watch and Waterwise.

The voting is open until midnight on Sunday 19th September 2010. The community project that receives the most votes will win a bursary of Â£10,000 to support and develop their project further. What are good environmental science topics?

This semester in my Environmental class i am required to investigate and present two CURRENT articles on two DIFFERENT subjects, events or developments PERTAINING to Environmental Science. However, i have no idea what to talk about, because honestly i am not really into environmental stuff. So i am asking that if someone knows good topics for this project i am doing, please let me know. I would really appreciated it. Thank you

Also what are good sites for my sources. My sources must be reputable scientific journals, newspapers, magazines, or associated websites.

Pollution is always a good topic
You can talk about the oil spill, how much garbage we waste every year, what smoking and car emission do to our air, and what we can do to fix it.

Global Warming
Endangered Species
Energy Conservation
Biodiversity
Natural Hazards (earthquakes, tsunamis, volcanoes)
Water pollution/resources (ocean)
Vegetation
Climate change
Environmental Policy (what the government should do to protect the environment)

These are just a FEW… there’s a lot you can talk about relating to today.
